National Swing Day!

Wednesday, January 17th, 2018 was National Swing Day!  We salute all those Broadway swings who give true meaning to “the show must go on”!  Swings are the backbone of a company and true heroes of the show!

SpongeBob SquarePants opens on Broadway!

SpongeBob SquarePants, the new Broadway musical based on the popular Nickelodeon cartoon series, celebrates its official opening night December 4 at the Palace Theatre.

The musical features original songs by Aerosmith, Cyndi Lauper, John Legend, the Flaming Lips, Sara Bareilles, Panic! At the Disco, and the late David Bowie.

Curtis Holbrook was awarded the Gypsy Robe.  This is his 10th Broadway show!  Holbrook’s previous Broadway credits include: If/Then, West Side Story, Xanadu, All Shook Up, The Addams Family, The Boy From Oz, Taboo, Fosse, Footloose.

“Bandstand”, the final Tony Award contender for this season, opens on Broadway!

Congratulations to Kevin Worley, the swing and assistant dance captain of Bandstand on winning the Gypsy Robe! It’s Kevin’s tenth show. You may have previously seen him in Holiday Inn, Dames at Sea, Something Rotten, On the Town, Bullets Over Broadway, Cinderella, White Christmas, A Chorus Line, and 42nd Street.
