“My Fair Lady” opens on Broadway!

The Broadway revival of Lerner and Loewe’s My Fair Lady   opened April 19 at the Vivian Beaumont Theater.  The Lincoln Center Theater production, directed by Tony winner Bartlett Sher, stars Lauren Ambrose and Harry Hadden-Paton as Eliza Doolittle and Professor Henry Higgins.

Congratulations to Matt Wall for getting the “Gypsy Robe”!   Wall’s Broadway credits include, Sunset Boulevard, Something Rotten, Annie, Evita, How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, Promises, Promises, Curtains, South Pacific, The Drowsy Chaperone, 110 in the Shade, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Thoroughly Modern Millie, Follies, and Saturday Night Fever.

“Carousel” on Broadway!

Another Broadway musical opened at the Imperial Theatre on Thursday, April 12th. Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Carousel returns to Broadway for the first time in more than twenty years! This production stars Tony Award nominee Joshua Henry (Hamilton, Shuffle Along), Tony winner Jessie Mueller (Beautiful, Waitress), and Renée Fleming. Three-time Tony winner Jack O’Brien directs, with choreography by New York City Ballet’s Justin Peck.

Congratulations to Jess LeProtto for getting the “Gypsy Robe”!   He was previously seen in The Boy From Oz, Dr. Seuss’ How The Grinch Stole Christmas!, Bye Bye Birdie, Newsies The Musical, On The Town, Cats and Hello, Dolly! 

“Mean Girls” opens on Broadway!

On Sunday, April 8th, Tina Fey’s Mean Girls opened at the August Wilson Theater.  This musical-comedy version of the 2004 movie is directed and choreographed by Casey Nicholaw, with musical direction by Mary-Mitchell Campbell.

Congratulations to Brendon Stimson for winning the Gypsy Robe!  Along with Mean Girls, he was seen in Something Rotten!, Honeymoon in Vegas, Newsies the Musical, and West Side Story!  Brendon will pass the robe on to a Chorus member in Carousel soon.
